The vision of Digital Sustainability & Traceability (DST) is to deliver innovative digital solutions in Yara\'s core business that enable Yara to deliver on its key strategic goal of growing a Nature-Positive Food Future.

DST is providing digital solutions to Yara\'s business that enable and support our journey to deliver on Yara\'s sustainability targets in a verifiable and accurate manner, as well as innovative tools that enable the physical products (fertilizer and industrial) and carbon footprint traceability of Yara\'s products globally, delivering value in the areas of safety, statutory compliance, supply chain and new business.

A bit about the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer with strong skills in Java programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. The candidate should have a passion for delivering efficient, effective and reliable code that meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and usability.

You will be a valuable member in a cross-functional, autonomous team to build, experiment, iterate and deliver new objectives for DST. You will get a chance to work with IoT Edge Devices (RFID Writers, Readers, Antennas), Android Apps that are used at Yara\'s Production Sites, Logistics Terminals and Warehouse Units. Above all, your work will impact how we feed the world and protect the planet.

Location: Oslo, Norway or Berlin, Germany (hybrid model: 2 days in the office and 3 days at home)

What you will be doing

• Design and develop advanced Android applications using Java programming language
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Ensure that the applications are responsive, efficient, and reliable
• Test and debug applications to ensure they meet quality standards
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to mobile development
• Leverage DevOps practices and principles to help scale developer\'s productivity, and continuously contribute to improve our engineering standards.
• You are agile/scrum experienced and deliver well-tested and reviewed releases.

What you will bring

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven experience as an Android app developer with Java programming skills, understanding of the Android Ecosystem, Java, and Android Studio
• Experience working on applications designed following the MVVM pattern
• Experience with third-party libraries, SDKs and frameworks
• Experience working with JSON RESTful APIs and AWS
• Experience with CI/CD solutions for android applications delivery
• Knowledge of design patterns and popular architecture frameworks
• Experience with Git and Agile methodologies
• Fluent in English, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Eager to learn, and an abundance of passion and enthusiasm to develop product
