The company is looking for a dynamic R&D leader to join as our Manager of R&D for Germany based out of our Stuttgart Center of Excellence. This position is reporting directly to the Vice President of VSEn & Research and Development.

Our growth has been impressive, and we are now a team of 80+ skilled and motivated R&D employees located in Germany, North America, the UK and Australia. Our mission is simple \xe2\x80\x93 to provide excellent R&D services to 21st Century Software Technologies Inc. and its business partners such as IBM.

Due to the nature of the job, the position is on-site.
Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a structured people\'s person, who is able to manage a cross-functional and geographically dispersed team of employees that are building software for the diverse and constantly evolving landscape for the mainframe. You would be overseeing and guiding multiple software development teams, oversee the desing and implementation of scalable and maintainable software solutions that meet business objectives, and work with product owners and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed software specifications.

Work will include but not be limited to:

• Work with the program management organization to ensure software is delivered according to the requirements, on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other leaders within Global z/OS R&D to maintain our common strategic vision, R&D processes, and best practices.
• Collaborate and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, from both technical and business communities.
• Build succession planning and hire programs geared towards mainframe development.
• Work with our support organization to manage solving unexpected issues affecting our customers.

Skills/Qualifications
You have worked in a similar role before, possibly in a start-up environment. You are comfortable with Agile Development Concepts and Methodologies, and it is a plus if you have been leading teams of varying cultures.
As a person you are inclusive, curious, structured, and open minded.

In addition, you will need:

• 3+ years software development management experience
• Knowledge of main SDLC concepts
• Knowledge and use of work planning and defect tracking tools such as Jira.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in partnering with Independent Software Vendors.
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
