Working in the global software development team

The Global Software Development team is a specialist team in Statkraft that delivers leading software for all business areas in Statkraft, ranging from portal applications to advanced analytics tools. Custom software development is essential for Statkraft to remain a market leader in renewable energy production and market access services.

What to expect:

As an Python developer, you will closely engage with the business by developing customized systems giving Statkraft a competitive edge in the power market. The following descriptions are outlining your job profile:

• Work closely with the business to understand the business process and needs; design the technical concept and develop high quality software within agreed timescales
• Develop and maintain our sophisticated robotic trading system
• Support the agile release- and sprint planning process through analysis and estimation of development work
• Play an essential part in further developing the software development practices

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
• Several years of professional software development experience
• Strong Python skills
• Professional and/or open-source work in at least one \xe2\x80\x9cfunctional\xe2\x80\x9d programming language (ideally Erlang or Elixir, but Lisp or ML is also possible)
• Basics of Linux command line usage
• Some familiarity with web front-end, Angular, REST, GraphQL
• Experience with the actor model (Erlang, Akka, Akka.NET)
• Excellent communication skills in English
