JOB OVERVIEW:
TE Connectivity\'s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products and introduce them into practice. They are responsible for the product development of new connectors according to customer requirements by following the TE internal product development process. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams works very closely too different specialists to ensure functionality and safety: simulation experts, quality (D-FMEA), and test lab (qualification) also to ensure manufacturability and low tool and production costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Development of concepts for connector housings according to customer or market requirements
Prepare documents and samples that help to discuss those concepts with the customer.
Lead the development from concept phase, design, validation, and customer release
Implementation/ participation/ initiation of design assurance measures (tolerance analyses, design review, D-FMEA, CAE simulation, design verification and qualification) as well as their evaluation
Creation of drawings according to MBD specifications
Creation of interface drawings in coordination with our customers
Preparation of product documentation (specifications)
Coordination of the development phases during the entire product development process up to the customer release, also in the temporal context
Identification and elimination of technical risks in the project
Take over general tasks for the team and the department and provide input to internal working groups.
Provide input for the next project steps in a timely manner and keep the core team up to date regarding the progress.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor\'s degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering or similar
Fluent in German and English
Experience in using 3D-CAD systems (Creo preferred)
Knowledge of GPS, MBD and tolerance calculation
Knowledge of the design requirements for molded plastic and silicon components
Solid knowledge of known manufacturing technologies (molding and assembling)
Experience in development processes for the automotive environment and the corresponding quality requirements (QS9000ff, TS16949)
Experience in structured development of solutions with the help of tools (IfR, SixSigma etc.)
