For the greater areas Saarland, Brandenburg, Baden-W\xc3\xbcrttemberg, Niedersachsen, Steiermark, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Charleroi, Amsterdam,, we are looking for local based Material & Piping Components Inspectors on a freelance basis for ad hoc Inspections at local manufacturers.
1. Scope:
To ensure all assignment instructions received for inspection assignments are performed. competently and at the times required.
To review the assignment instruction for adequacy and practicality.
To attend pre-production and other meetings as required.
To liaise with clients, and others as relevant, in the determination of inspection stages and requirements.
Inspects drawings, designs, and specifications for piping, valves, pressure vessels and other relevant mechanical equipment and to be able to ensure all customer requirements and procedures are followed.
To visit manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and others as necessary to perform or witness the requisite inspections.
To provide in good time all required reports of the inspections performed / witnessed.
To ensure all inspection and related activities in which involved are performed in accordance with requirements as defined in Intertek work instructions and procedures.
To be able to adapt and use the new implemented technologies within the Intertek group (e-reporting system, Remote Video Inspection System, Evolution system).
4. Competences and experiences:
A minimum of 5 years employed by manufacturer(s) or constructor(s) of the type of products or materials to be inspected. Such employment to be in all area of such organizations in which knowledge of the manufacturing, inspection and related processes would be gained. Educational qualifications in relevant disciplines (one or more of the following):
University degree
National Higher Education
Chartered Engineer or equivalent
In the absence of such qualifications the experience criteria shall be increased to 10 years.
Valid Driver\'s License
Good Communication skills
Language capability - English language is mandatory.
For field inspectors involved in the inspection of mechanical inspection the following qualifications
are preferred and bring an advantage to the candidate:
European Welding Engineer or National equivalent (i.e. CSWIP / CWI / AWS)
ISO 9712 or ASNT qualifications as relevant
NACE CIP Level 2 or FROSIO
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor
Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Systems
Be aware of company policies and procedures with respect to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental issues with respect to office based and field personnel. Ensure the implementation of company policies / procedures and any applicable legislative regulations with respect to OHSAS and Environment. Ensure the documented investigation and follow up of any reported incidents to a satisfactory conclusion.
