\n A Snapshot of Your Day As a development engineer at Siemens Energy, you analyse and optimize the tools and software for power converters of the future to enable energy transition. You abstract the customer s requirements takin into account the hardware and software limits of the converter. Together with a team of experts, you investigate, implement and test new solution approaches and concepts as part of R&D and customer projects. You design the solutionas for these challenges yourself and are able to optimize and further develop them. How You\'ll Make an Impact
Indepentent development and analysis of power converter control, including software of self-guided multilevel converters
Creation of simulation models for self-commutated multilevel converter systems in power transmission system, including control design, software structure and test coordination
Design, test and implementation of novel control concepts takin into account overall system optimization (consideration of software and hardware aspects)
Development and setup of a test framework and a model architecture for "continuous software development" for easy and fast integration of new control concepts and algorithmus
Participation in the development of structures and corresponding tools for the efficient and simultaneous operation of several projects with different specific requirements
Active participation in internal and exernal research and development projects as well as support of internal business partners on technical level (engineering, product manager, sales, etc.)
What You Bring
University degree in eletrical engineering or information technology, ideally in combination with a PhD.
Many years of professional experience in the context of R&D projects and/or in industry as well as experience with Matlab/Simulink in with the context of real-time simulation (incl. automatic code generation and embedded software)
Profound knowledge of control engineering (linear control concepts, modern control methods, EA linearization) and software engineering (esp. modeling, software architecture, modularization)
Confident in using version management systems (esp. git) and experience with CI/CD desirable
Very good knowledge in the application and implementation of modern control methods in industrial applications and ideally in the area of power converter technology
Business fluen in English, German would be a plus
Structured way of working, initiative, creativity, ability to work in a team, communication skills, motivation as well as enthusiasm and quality orientation
