Our client is private equity-backed, well-established, and market leading group focused on complex renovation of large-scale civil engineering structures - concrete repair, floor coating and corrosion protection. They are looking to hire a CFO to join their management team and support their growth plans. The position is based in Essen, Germany. What the job involves
Being an equal member of the Management Board (CEO + CFO)
Leading and further improving the group holding towards a shared service center to support the group entities and branch managers through efficient and effective support functions
Leading the core functions of the holding including Accounting, Controlling and M&A/PMI - other administrative functions such as Procurement, Legal, IT or HR could also be included
Coordination and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Reporting accurate financial results to the management, advisory board, lenders, and shareholders as well as preparing ad-hoc analysis
Budget planning and forecasting
Implementing and optimising a best-in-class monitoring/performance management system (incl. KPIs, dashboards, structured performance dialogues, etc.)
Managing relationship with banks as well as setting up a sustainable cash and liquidity management, including establishing a "cash culture"
Executing add-on acquisitions within the buy-and-build strategy and overseeing post-merger-integration
Preparing and implementing a holistic recruiting, HR, and IT strategy
Developing a strategy to digitalize and optimize internal processes ("Lean Administration")
Who we are looking for
University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related disciplines
Significant experience as a CFO in a medium-sized business
Significant experience in working in a holding structure with several smaller subsidiaries
Experience in project business is a must (e.g., POC-Accounting)
Experience in integrating acquired companies into holding structures; M&A/PMI and buy-and-build experience is a strong plus
Past experience working with private equity investors is highly beneficial
Knowledge of the construction business or related industries is important
Outstanding finance skill set with strong controlling skills and experience in implementing monitoring/performance management systems
Experience in structured financing and working with banking syndicates is a must
Useful IT-skills: Experience with MS Office, LucaNet, ERP-systems, and business intelligence tools
Strong analytical and strategic skills with an eye for details
Entrepreneurial mindset with a high-energy level and a hands-on mentality
Modern, inclusive, and empathetic leader with a positive mindset as well as a team player
Strong communication skills with fluency in German and English, knowledge of French would be beneficial
