Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
The Accounting Technician processes all kind of funding requests submitted by Embassy sections and constituent posts by verifying their adequacy and legality and determining the appropriate funding source and verifying the availability of funding. Apart from that, they prepare financial plans based on prior year, budgeted, actual and projected spending. They on a regular basis monitors the unliquidated obligations to help to ensure a proper financial statement. The incumbent also provides management advisory services pertaining to the status of funds and/or obligations directly to the FMC management and other management staff at Embassy Berlin as well as the constituent posts.

Two years of experience in budgeting, accounting or finance is required.
Two years (or completion of other equivalent post-secondary educational program or degree) of post-secondary education (vocational education, associate degree or college/university studies) is required.

Position requires good working knowledge language skills in English (speaking/reading/writing).
Position requires good working knowledge language skills in German (speaking/reading/writing).

- Must know how to use software such as MS-Excel.
